Louis Vuitton AW 12

Hi All,

So things at the internship are crazy as we are all getting geared up for London Fashion Week and the shows for the brands we represent...it is a very great way to learn about this amazing industry called FASHION and we are all so excited!

I know that I still have two weeks left until the end of summer vacation, but September always brings with it the swiftest change of the seasons for me of the whole year. The leaves start to turn into that golden, glazed brown, the air is crisp and fresh, the beautiful September issues begin filtering into the newstands and all the footage from Fashion Week in New York can mean only one thing - Fall is on its way. And with a whole new season of inspiration, new fashions to try, old ones to re-work and refresh. As much as I LOVE summer, and definitely need the sun to keep me happy, I must say that Autumn/Winter fashion is always more fun and close what I love about fashion. You can layer and pair rich coats with boots, fur trimmed gloves, chunky scarves and knits...the list goes on...

I wanted to share one of my favourite ad campaigns for Fall, and the show which will probably drive my choices in fashion for the season - Marc Jacobs' fantastical, whimsical and breathtaking show for Louis Vuitton. The hats are beautiful, the coats impeccable and the bags are so sumptuous! It's like Dr Suess and Charles Dickens had a conversation which Marc Jacobs overheard and coupled with his own unique stamp.

A feast for the eyes...

London Living

Hi Guys,

So I wanted to do a post about an adorable fabric store I came across one day whilst running an intern errand for work on Berwick St in Soho called The Silk Society. I loved the fabrics there, they were all so luxurious and beautiful. I have also put up some pictures of other cute streets around that area. The infamous Carnaby Street with the cutest little alleyways leading off it, one of which lead onto this goregous little courtyard with cafes and vintage stores. Just some sweet snapshopts from London, with much love <3

Gorgeous gold...

Blushing tones...

Oxford Street at sundown - still buzzing as alive. You've got to love London...

I chic woman I spotted on my way home from work one night on the doorstep of Olives (a bar and restaurant in South Kensington- the area I live in). I really need to do some more posts of the cute places around my area. Living in South Ken has been amazing, I adore the area. There are such cute cafes and restaurants, not to mention its within walking distance of the Victoria and Albert Museum. More on South Ken to come soon...

Until then!

Summer and apologetic update...

Hi Everyone!

First of all I am so sorry for being MIA for the past few months. Around Easter till end of May it was busy, busy, busy with essays, exams and general uni craziness. And after that I had a lot to prepare for my summer  because I am spending it living in the amazingly beautiful and vibrant city of LONDON.

I am interning at a wonderful showroom called Rainbowwave, which also has a PR division. They perform sales for some of the most exquisite brands - Peter Pilotto, Marios Schwab, Carven, J Brand...the list goes on! I'm interning in their fashion sales department and I am having a blast. The team is so friendly and hard working and the general atmosphere at the showroom is great to be a part every day. Even though my professors are still *kindly* providing us with summer reading for our dissertations (cannot believe this coming year will be my final one at uni!) so I do have to squeeze in some Victorian-novel reading whilst on the tube to work, but oh well - I always say, you gotta hustle in this world! :p

So, I promise a more detailed post about the showroom later, and cool updates of things going on around London. But, for now I have included a picture of Maria, my main fashion-boss-extraordinaire. She is amazing and really cares for and nurtures those who work on her team. She has a great love for fashion, and all the brands Rainbowwave represents and is true fashion role-model because she is not only great at what she does but treats people with respect.

You can see the amazing J Brand denims behind her, as well as the adorable Ancient Greek Sandals beside her. I will take more photos of the showroom for you all to see. It's a beautiful, open space situated in upbeat and busy Camden.

Here is a link to the website so you can get a bit more an idea of what goes on at Rainbowwave:

I think it is in the process of being updated though, so keep checking it for more updates, and Rainbowwave is also on Twitter! :)

Yasmin Sewell also cited it as one of her favourite London showrooms on her blog for Vogue.com:

So, I could go on, but I have to get back to work at the moment -but I promise, back to regular fashion posts, and a lot of excting London posts soon to come. Have a great day everyone!

Spring has Sprung

I know I haven't posted in a while, but as you can all guess it is that time of year - exams. Yes the glorious task of revising has been keeping me occupied for the past few weeks, but I just had a bit of time to make this quick post.

On a happier note, Spring has officially (and finally) sprung people!! So here a few pieces of inspiration for making that wonderous and gentle transition into easy breezy style (oh, how 'Cover Girl' of me).

I love the deceptive simplicity of this hairstyle. It's so feminine and has that grecian-goddess quality about it, without being a full-blown up-do, but still being more glamorous than your everyday blow-dry.

The truly stunning Amber Heard here shows off two key Spring trends - the floral dress and the oh-so-chic LWD (Little White Dress). Both are , flirtatious and Spring appropriate.

I'm a huge believer in the power of one's hair colour, and I find these gorgeous, caramel and blonde tones on Audrina Patridge a really nice transition from her earlier brunette do which we saw on The Hills (ah, who else remembers that epic show?!) I really love lighteneing up my hair for summer, and as a natural brunette, I get lovely caramel highlights done by my hair dresser. Not too over-the-top, but just enough to help you get that spring/summery glow.

Summer is great because it gives us a real reason to finally get off the couch, put down the doughnut, cake, biscuit or whatever it is the wintery winds had us craving, and go out for a run, or take a Zumba class with friends. Good weather makes going to gym easier, or at least I feel that way. It makes you feel so much happier and ready to go. So of course, why go to the gym in oversized men's sweats, when you can look as cute as Kristen Cavallari and Ashley Tisdale. Even leggings and a cool t-shirt with some kick-ass sunnies make a great gym outfit. I even find a cute outfit makes the workout more fun. :p

The joy of not having to worry about layers to protect you from the cold, means a simple floral-print top with jeans,  as seen on Lauren Conrad, make for an easy and quick way to look and feel great. (Chanel purse optional, although very desirable.)

As shown by Sophia Bush, prints can also be a more fun and inventive way to dress up in spring/summer. When those prints are tribal-inspired and appear in crazy colour combinations paired with a whopping platform - all the better. Be bold, be bright, be beautiful.

And finally, my all-time favourite spring/summer piece - the maxi dress. Whether full sleeved, cap-sleeved or indeed sleeveless, this easy-to-wear item never fails to evoke summer better than anything else.  Wearing a maxi-piece during the day makes you feel glamorous but still comfortable and easy. You can dress them up of course, as J Lo has with statement earings and wedges, or keep it more toned down with flat sandals and a few bangles. Ah, the simple joys of life...
Till next time - have a great week everyone!

Style Spotlight - Johannes Huebel

Another guy edition of Style Spotlight. I have posted before about my love of classic dressing for men, which is so easy to do in my opinion, but it does mean that the individual man needs his own sense and understanding of fashion. This is something your girlfriend/wife can't teach you but will be innate in the man in question. To me Johannes Huebel has just this quality. His sense of style is so classic, elegant and immaculate. He is boyfriend of Olivia Palermo, which makes for one painfully attractive couple. He incorporates statement jackets/blazers with stylish shoes and classic tailoring, balancing tradition and modernity. Shirts, pocket handkerchiefs, and sweaters casually draped over the shoulder make for a manly way of dressing without being too obviously masculine. A ++

Current Crushes

I got a few pieces from Zara last week, could not believe that I found the perfect t-strap heels that I have been waiting to add to my wardrobe. I love neutral coloured heels as they just go with everything, and this peachy, rose-tea coloured pair are so feminine and delicate.

I also got this adorable tee, my own little piece of the Dolce/Vuitton inspired, pastel coloured palette. I am obsessed with this pistachio-esque shade, it is so light and will be perfect once the weather warms up - which I hope it will soon, as I'm so over grey clouds!

Now I know this is an awful picture, but I wanted to show these amazing silky pyjama trousers. This is one summer trends piece I really wanted to try, and I love how classic these stripy trousers are, so excited to wear them! They fall really beautifully and create an elegant silhouette with some serious high heels.

This weekend my Dad took the fam down to London for one of our little traditions - afternoon tea at The Gerogian in Harrods. My favourite blend changes every time I go there as they always have some amazing new teas, and their delicate sandwiches, cakes and pastries are delicious. The best thing has got to be the scones though, perfect with their rose petal jam. <3
